Upstream does not support the old class hardware and won’t fix this issue. We can focus on bug mentioned in comment 12 as the community-level support work for this chipset.

Reassign it back away from 82185. I’ve gone ahead and forwarded this issue upstream at https: So I think the workaround to solve this bug – blacklisting in compiz – will have to be the permanent solution here.

Accepted into hardy-proposed, please test and give feedback here. This hardware configuration should be blacklisted and visual effects should be turned off by default. This bug was fixed in the package compiz – 1: Should be blacklisted for hardy.
