I had it working properly after adapting the hints listing here with 8. This appears many times. Make sure its using USB by editing the file and placing if not already there usb on one line within the file. The latter has a proposed fix. I have made a breakthrough! Mario November 10, at 8:

I retried this with several releases of Ubuntu on different machines. Do this with several files. I tryed several time to use this printer via network in my setup I cannot use it locally as it is away from all the computers and I was unsucessfull… I tried with ubuntu 6.

USB printing and scanning with Epson machines has been available for Linux for at least six years now and was even backported to late 2. Not sure if this is complicating the setup but it can’t be helping.
But for the printer, ,inux am lost. No such file or directory: Your printer should show up in the list when you click add new printer button. See full activity log.
I don’t know how to check error logs. If the other printer also does not work: How did you get your printer working in Karmic? I tried to follow your config changes but to no avail.

This was not available for the USB printer set up. Thanks for your help. I run my business from my computer and after testing my requirements was ready to switch over hook, line and sinker from Windows to Ubuntu, however being unable to print is a dealbreaker since I libux cannot run my business without being able to print!
